Puppy in Pain—Why Your Tiny Pupper is Yelping

puppy wraped up

As a new dog owner, all your attention and efforts are focused on making your puppy’s life perfect.

Yet, you feel like there’s something wrong. Despite your hard work, your puppy still shows signs of discomfort! They’re limping, look dull, and don’t have the general happy-go-lucky temperament you’re used to.

What could be causing this concerning change in their behavior? Innov8tion offers some insight into why your puppy might be behaving this way, despite them not having suffered any apparent injury.

A Note:

We discussed briefly what causes pain in cats and dogs.

Constant licking, whining & whimpering, aggression, and sleeping and eating troubles may indicate a problem in older dogs.

However, the situation is a little different for puppies. Smaller in size and vulnerable, puppies react a bit differently to pain.

How do I Help My Puppy Manage Pain?

Don’t make the mistake of giving your pup the same over-the-counter medication other dogs (or you) take!

Human pain medication is extremely dangerous for pets, and in some cases, can lead to substantial renal damage among other effects.

The medicine your other dogs might take may be of a higher dosage and therefore, not suitable for your pup’s sizably smaller stature.

For puppies, the proper medication that’s prescribed by a veterinarian is the only option that suits. Depending on your pup’s condition, your vet may prescribe CBD hemp oil if the pain is too much.

With the right medication (and surgery if the situation demands), your pup will recover quickly and effectively.
